About this Park
Mud Lake Delta Park has an interesting mosaic of habitats on rich floodplain wetlands, back channels, beaver ponds, and oxbow lakes. This park contains a pristine delta area suited to nature study, wildlife viewing, fishing and hunting. There are no camping or day-use facilities provided at this park.
Safety information
- Bring your own drinking water as potable water is not available in the park.
- Please bring your own campstoves for cooking as campfires are not permitted in the park unless for an emergency. If a fire is used for an emergency, please keep it small and ensure it is completely out before you leave.
- There are no developed trails in the park.
Location notes
On the east end of Mud Lake, due east of Blue River and 230 km north of Kamloops on Highway 5. The park is accessible by boat via the North Thompson and Mud Rivers. There is an active logging road that can be used to access portions of the Park.

- 9728:Canoeing A canoe or kayak is required to access this area. Access is from the north end of Blue River, along the North Thompson and up Mud River to the Lake.
- 9728:Fishing There are ice fishing opportunities in this park.
- 9728:Wildlife viewing A pristine delta area for nature study and wildlife viewing.
- 9728:Pets on leash You are responsible for behaviour of pets and domestic animals and must dispose of their excrement. Backcountry areas are not suitable for dogs or other pets due to wildlife issues and the potential for problems with bears.
- 9728:Hunting The discharge and carrying of firearms is permitted in this park for the purposes of hunting during open season. Please consult the BC Government Hunting and Trapping Regulations Synopsis for more information. Contact BC Parks at parkinfo@gov.bc.ca with any specific questions.
- 9728:Winter recreation Snowshoeing is permitted. There are no maintained trails.
